Cornel Chiriac | General Partner | London
Cornel is the founding partner of London Venture Factory, syndicate lead and early stage venture investor. His portfolio is focused on deep technology applications to traditional sectors. Cornel is active in the venture ecosystem and leads the core investment activities and syndicates for Chicago Booth Angels and mentors for select accelerators, including TechStars, CyLon Cybersecurity, and Microsoft Ventures.
Professionally, Cornel heads the Energy Technology practice at Fieldstone investment bank, both in advisory and investment capacities. His focus area is on energy technology innovation aiding the sustainable economy and energy transition (e.g. circular economy, energy storage, energy efficiency). Advisory projects cover M&A and capital raises for growth and mature companies while the investment activity is focused on early stage opportunities, covering both digital and non-digital innovation.
In his earlier career, Cornel built and scaled two entrepreneurship ventures in the USA to exits of over $25m, was a strategy and deal consultant with L.E.K. in London, and a corporate VC with the World Gold Council. Prior to settling in London, Cornel lived and worked in the USA for over a decade and in South-East Asia for four years.

Professionally, Fernand is the MD of Aviva Ventures. He is passionate about new venture strategy and start-up financing. He’s actively engaged in advising, mentoring, investing and partnering with entrepreneurs who have the drive to disrupt industries.
Fernand is a seasoned financial services executive. He has worked in Asia, Europe and North America. Before Aviva Ventures, he gained global transactional and operating experience in shaping growth strategies and business development, opening new markets and driving business turnaround. His broad transactional experience ranges from a £5 billion+ transformative acquisition in the UK to a $20 billion+ IPO in Asia.

Brian Sohn | General Partner | Korea
Brian is an active angel investor and a partner at London Venture Factory. He focuses on LVF’s activities in South Korea and neighbouring areas.
Brian’s early stage investment experience includes venture capital investments for Korean-based Gisson Capital and leading venture syndicates with Startup Research. Brian is an experienced CFO and often provides financial expertise to portfolio companies.
In his earlier career, Brian led investor relations for LG Electronics, was an equity research analyst with HSBC, and led the global business division for GCCEI (focused on IoT, 5G, ICT, gaming).
Brian holds a MBA and Finance degree from the University of Akron.
